Christine holds a BA in Music from Mount Holyoke College and a Masters of Music from the University of Connecticut. She has been a MA Certified teacher as well as a professional vocal and keyboard performer for 25 years. Using a wide variety of repertoire, Mrs. Costello approaches vocal instruction with a focus of healthy singing, ear training, and the development of sight-reading skills, using educationally proven methodology.
Jonathan has been performing and studying music for most of his life; he has been involved in many performance groups over the years including the Massachusetts All State Choir as well as being a member of the Tri-M National Honor Musical Society. From Sinatra to Sondheim, Jonathan has a diverse repertoire that spans many decades from the days of the Rat Pack to modern musical theater.
Some of the shows Jonathan has been in include RENT (Roger), Guys & Dolls (Sky Masterson), You’r a Good Man Charlie Brown (Schroeder), and The Apple Tree (Adam). Jonathan currently directs the children’s choir at Zion Lutheran Church in Oxford, Massachusetts.
Matt has been a professional vocalist, guitarist & bassist for the past 15 years, playing across the Northeast in various bands (New Pilot, 4th Floor) and as a solo artist. A gifted singer-songwriter, Matt has recorded 8 original albums and has headlined at clubs such as the legendary House of Blues in Cambridge. He has also opened for many notable acts including Johnny Winter, Third Eye Blind, Dispatch, Marcy Playground, Days Of The New & The Wailers.
Known as a very diverse musician, Matt is seasoned in a wide spectrum of musical genres and forums. From an intimate acoustic set, to an upbeat full band experience.. he is very capable of supplying entertainment for many different settings. Matt specializes in performing his own original music, but also has a huge catalog of cover songs at his disposal if that better suits the occasion.
In addition to his private lessons at Central Mass Music Academy, James is actively teaching the marching band and winter percussion at Shepard Hill Regional High School, as well as the drumline at Dudley Middle School. A talented multi-instrumentalist, James has also been playing guitar and piano from an early age.
Don has performed professionally on saxophone, flute, clarinet for more than 30 years. He is also highly proficient on the EWI (Electronic Wind Instrument) which allows him to “play” oboe, trumpet, french horn, violin and cello, as well as just about any wind instrument included in the latest sound modules. As a member of the United States Air Force Band, Don performed lead alto saxophone and led both big bands and small group combos in hundreds of concerts and shows throughout the USA. During his Air Force career, he performed and conducted ceremonies for high level military and civilian dignitaries. Don’s musicianship has brought him into contact with many great jazz and pop artists including Dizzy Gillespie, Bobby Shew, Chuck Berry, Frank Sinatra Jr., and Toni Tennille.
Since retiring from the United States Air Force, Don has performed in the New England area. He has worked locally with the “Milestones Big Band”, the popular group “Down East”, the “Solar Jazz Quintet”, and most recently, the band “9Teen” in which he has played numerous weddings, outdoor concerts, and clubs throughout New England. He has been heard on many occasions with 9Teen including Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Casinos where the group opened and closed main acts.
Charlie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Berklee College of Music. While his main instrument is trombone, he is able to teach all major brass and woodwind instruments in both classical and jazz styles. He has 20 years of instrumental teaching to his credit, and is currently employed by the Paul Effman Music Service, offering instrumental music programs to private Catholic schools in cities and towns throughout Central Massachusetts. Mr. Cook has performed both nationally and internationally with artist Ray Charles, and with the bands Earth, Wind & Fire and Meatloaf.
Caitlyn is 26 years old with a Bachelor’s Degree in Visual and Performing Arts focusing in Vocal Performance from Worcester State University and a Master’s Degree in Music Industry Leadership from Northeastern University. Caitlyn is a life-long performer as not only a vocalist, but also a dancer and a performer in musicals. Her favorite role so far has been playing the Baker’s Wife in Into the Woods. She has also participated as a chorus member in Beauty and the Beast, Kesli in High School Musical, Erzulie the Goddess of Love in Once on This Island and Eponine in Les Miserables.
Caitlyn has performed worldwide as a member of the Worcester State University Chorale on concert tours in Germany, Italy, and Sicily. She also sings in the choir at Zion Lutheran Church in Oxford MA.
Alexa Trahan is a senior at Shepherd Hill Regional HS. In addition to playing acoustic guitar, she is an accomplished pianist and mezzo soprano. Alexa provides in home tutoring for piano and voice students enrolled at Central Mass Music Academy, and works closely with the Costello family in the music ministry at Zion Lutheran Church in Oxford, MA.
